Chain link Fencing
A chain link fence (also referred to as a wire netting, wire-mesh fence, chain-wire fence, cyclone fence, hurricane fence, or diamond mesh fence) is a type of woven fence usually made from galvanized or PVC coated steel wire. The wires run vertically and are bent into zigzag pattern so that each “zig” hooks with the wire immediately on one side and each “zag” with the wire immediately on the other. This forms the characteristic diamond pattern.
The fabric is typically sold in rolls of 50 feet.
Loop Caps
Loop caps are installed on line posts, or intermediate posts and used to secure top rail. Do not use these if barb wire is to be installed, use barb arms instead.
Use aluminum loop caps for residential jobs, pressed steel for commercial jobs.
Sleeves
Sleeves are primarily used to sleeve two pieces of unswedged top rails together.
Line Rail Clamps
Line rail clamps are a similar fitting which forms a plus with pipe. An alternative fitting would include a brace band and a rail end. Two piece rail clamps sandwich the pipe and a single nut and bolt is installed to clamp the tubing in place with friction.
Brace bands
Brace bands are often used to attach fence horizontal rails, bottom tension wire, and occasionally barbwire to chain link fence terminal posts. This almost always includes the top rail, but may also include bottom rail, mid rail and braces.
Brace Band Flat
Brace band flats are used for residential chain link applications.
Barbwire
Barbwire normally used as security measure. Galvanized barbwire prevents rusting and corrosion.
Barbwire Arms
Barbwire arms are used on chain link fence to attach barbed wire to the top of the fence. These barbwire arms accept three strands of barbwire. They are made from malleable iron or pressed steel and are galvanized for long lasting performance.
Carriage Bolts
Carriage bolts are used to secure an assortment of fence fittings to posts. These bolts are not like most bolts available. They are hot dipped galvanized coated. They will not rust like the shiny zinc coated type. The typical bolt will rust in a year or two and freeze the nut to the bolt. These bolts will last for years.
Hog Rings
Hog rings are used for a variety of applications. They are used frequently for securing bottom tension wire to the bottom of chain link fence. They are also used to patch holes.
Ties
Ties are used to secure chain link fabric to posts and horizontal rails.
Gate Corners
Chain link gate corners are used for residential, commercial and industrial gates. Fitting is suitable for most single walk gates and double chain link gates.
Hinges
The male hinge usually attaches to the gate post while the female hinge secures to the upright of the gate frame.
Tension Bars
Chain link fence tension bars are used vertically to secure chain link fabric/ wire ends to terminal posts. Used, also to attach link to gate uprights. Tension bars simply slide vertically into a channel naturally created when the chain link wire is woven.
Tension Bands
Tension bands are used to attach chain link fabric, or fence to the terminal post i.e. end post, corner posts, and gate posts. They are also commonly used to attach chain link fabric to the uprights of gate frames, temp fence panels.
Rail End Caps
Rail end caps are used to attach framework, usually top rail, mid rails, and bottom rails to terminal posts. They secure to the terminal post with brace band and carriage bolts.
Post Caps
Posts caps are frequently used for fence terminal posts, end, corner and gate posts. They are also used on gates. They simply tap on snugly with a hammer or pliers.
Tubing
Chan link fence tubing is used for the framework, or skeleton of the fence. Use for all horizontal rails such as top rail, bottom rail, and mid rails. Use for bracing and gates.
